Rotopor® - Indoor substrates for healthy plant growth

Indoor substrates form the basis for successful and long-lasting greenery in offices, foyers, conservatories and other indoor spaces. They must fulfil special requirements: easy handling, good water storage, high air permeability and a balanced supply of nutrients. This is the only way for plants to grow healthily in the long term under the special conditions indoors.

Advantages of indoor substrate

Low weight

The composition of pumice, lava and zeolite is ideal for use in planters or mobile greening systems due to its low bulk density.

Optimum water and air flow

The balanced pore structure reliably protects against waterlogging and compaction. At the same time, it ensures a good supply of oxygen in the root zone.

Good nutrient supply

The substrate stores important nutrients and releases them evenly to the plants. This ensures that they are continuously supplied and can grow healthily.

Indoor climate and well-being

Indoor plants improve humidity and air quality. Plants in the room provide relaxation and promote mental and physical health.

Mineral substrates for healthy plants

Why a special substrate is necessary.

Indoor plants grow under completely different conditions than in nature. Rain, soil organisms and natural ventilation are lacking - which is why normal garden soil or outdoor soil is not sufficient here. They compact quickly, cause waterlogging and can lead to mould.

Specialised indoor substrates are developed to meet the special requirements of indoor plants:

- Optimum air and water balance: A balanced pore structure prevents waterlogging and at the same time ensures a good supply of oxygen to the roots.

- Stable structure: Mineral components such as pumice or lava ensure that the substrate retains its shape permanently and does not decompose.

- Nutrient supply and pH stability: The substrate stores important nutrients, keeps the pH value in the ideal range and supplies the plants evenly.

- Hygiene and freedom from harmful substances: Free from mould, fungal spores or pests - for clean growth indoors.

- Lightweight and easy to handle: Lightweight substrates make it easier to use in planters, hydroponic systems or vertical greenery.
